Michael Albert Meyer is a native of the Waldviertel region who has accumulated a wealth of experience in the watchmaking industry throughout his life. From a very young age, he developed a passion for horology and went on to attend the watchmaking school in Karlstein im Waldviertel.

His professional career has been shaped by prestigious names such as IWC Schaffhausen and Patek Philippe, for whom the master watchmaker worked for many years. For more than four years, he designed and developed complicated timepieces featuring perpetual calendars in Schaffhausen.

Michael Albert Meyer then spent eleven years as a watch specialist at the family-run jewellery business Juwelier Paul Koppenwallner in Salzburg.

In 2014, he began conceiving and planning his own watch brand, which was to come to life in the heart of Weitra, at his personal atelier.

In the meantime, the master watchmaker completed a TGP degree at the University of Education in Vienna, qualifying him to teach at the watchmaking school in Karlstein.

After four years of meticulous development, he has been bringing his own collection of wristwatches to the Austrian market since 2018 under the EU-registered brand M.A. MEYER & SÖHNE – ZEITGENERATION.

He places the utmost importance on the quality of the movements and the timeless design of his limited-edition timepieces. Hand-crafted dials, state-of-the-art materials such as rhodium-plated bridges, ruby bearings, and sapphire crystals protect the inner life of his wristwatches.
